AMG acquires metals division of Vulcan Materials Company, including detinning operations in Baltimore, Md., Pittsburgh, Pa., Gary, Ind., Llanelli, U.K. and Hartlepool, U.K.

1989

AMG opens greenfield operation in St. Paul, Minn. to process magnetized trash and used cans

1991

AMG launches scrap brokerage division

1994

AMG acquires Burstein Company, a Pennsylvania-based supplier of known-analysis ferrous scrap

1995

AMG acquires scrap facility in Newark, N.J.

1997

AMG acquires Kimmel Metals, Inc., a scrap processor with operations in Milwaukee, Wis., Fort Dodge, Iowa and St. Joseph, Mo.

1998

AMG acquires Lathrop, Cal. scrap facility from Schnitzer Steel Industries’ Proler Recycling Inc. subsidiary

2004

AMG expands scrap brokerage division with new offices in Chicago, Ill. and Philadelphia, Pa.

2005

AMG expands secondary steel business with launch of new division specializing in excess prime and secondary steel plate

2006

AMG acquires 50% interest in Royal Green LLC, a Reading, Pa.-based scrap processor

2007

AMG Alliance, a joint venture with Alliance Steel Service Co., opens scrap facilities in St. Paul, Minn. and Red Wing, Minn.

2008

AMG acquires Midwest Steel & Alloy, Inc., a Youngstown, Ohio-based scrap business specializing in railcar dismantling and mill roll processing

2010

International Steel & Counterweights, Inc. launches and opens steel fabrication and counterweight manufacturing facility in Youngstown, Ohio

2012

AMG launches non-ferrous scrap division

Royal Green opens greenfield scrap facility in Lebanon, Pa.
